St Luke ChoirChoir

The Choir's Mission is to praise and glorify God by singing at Sunday worship services.

Members of the choir are volunteer congregational members who love to serve God through singing, and to learn more about the craft of singing through practise. No former voice training or choral singing experience necessary.

CharlieWe are truly fortunate to have Charlie Metzger as our choir director. Charlie is renown for his expertise in the world of barbershop quartets and choirs.

Mary Kostashuk accompanies the choir faithfully and directs the choir whenever Charlie is on the road attending his musical engagements.

New soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices are always welcome, as are accompanists and choir directors. We also love to be accompanied by flautists, trumpeters, and other instrumentalists.

Practice times We practise regularly on Thursday evenings - 7:00 to 8:30 pm

We generally meet 30 minutes before each service in which we sing in order to polish the pieces to be performed.

We generally sing three times per month. For special services (Easter, Christmas, and other) we also sing at the 10:30 am Contemporary service.

2010 - 2011 Season

A number of the choir members attended a "reading" on August 18, 2010 to help select music for the coming year. The reading was hosted by Northwest Musical Services Ltd. at the St Georges Greek Community Centre.

Pepper Choplin led the reading of approximately 60 pieces and was accompanied by a fabulous pianist, Eric Hominick. Thanks to Charlie and Karen Metzger, Ray and Elaine Lasota, Mary Kostashuk, Brenda Folvik, Laurel Dawe, and Eric Weiss for attending and helping Charlie to make his selections for the coming year.
