Hiking group
2010
Elfin Lakes
Mike organized one hike this year to Elfin Lakes / Diamond Head on September 4. Mike, Steve Kroeger and Eric and Brenda Weiss enjoyed a lovely albeit cool, day hiking to the lakes. Brenda recovered from a pinched nerve in her hip in time to make the Bowron Circuit the following week! You go girl!
Bowron Lakes
Ron Schramm, Brian Wolfe, and Eric and Brenda Weiss went on an 8-day paddle of the Bowren Lakes from September 11 to 18. The weather was variable, with a couple of very rainy days and a few sunny days. The evenings were cold as fall began to set in. The saving grace was we experienced very little head wind during the week.
2009
The hiking group set out on three one-day hikes in 2009 that included
incredible
scenery and companionship.
- Cypress Mountain
- Elfin / Diamond Head
- Brandywine Meadows
We had three to six people come out on the hikes and had a wonderful time.

Golf Group
Golfing 2010
Golf this year was held on an ad hoc basis. There were no organized outings with more than one foursome. We'll meet again in the spring of 2011 to discuss if we want to be more deliberate about getting out on the fairways.
Golfing 2009
The golf group met twice a month beginning on May 2nd with September 18th being the final orgainized game for this season - 2009. The players took turns doing the opening prayer at each gathering before we began.
While our game scores usually left much to be desired, the fellowship was tops. Everyone enjoyed being able to play with other Christians. Some new friendships were formed and many memories made. A donation was made by each and decided to give the $64.00 to our LLL for their purchase of food hampers.
After our final game a dinner at the Fleetwood Pub was enjoyed with much reminiscing over the birdies that escaped us all. It was somewhat disappointing that the turnout was low considering the number having signed up. Perhaps next year the scheduling of the times will be more fitting for those working as well as those retired.
