Give a lasting gift through the Church Extension Fund
Have you had trouble finding just the right gift for a birthday, anniversary, confirmation or baptism? Think about an investment in Church Extension. For as little as $10.00 you can open a savings account in that special person’s name – a gift that increases in value with time. Not only have you given a gift to your loved one, but you have given a gift that will help congregations needing funds to build worship facilities.
The Church Extension Fund is a unique ministry of the Alberta-British Columbia District of Lutheran Church-Canada by which individuals and groups may invest a portion of their savings, receive interest on investments and know that their dollars are being used to help build or renovate churches, schools and other entities so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be proclaimed.
By investing some of your financial blessings from the Lord, you are actively giving thanks and giving back. While your funds earn a good rate of interest, they also help churches, schools and other ministry entities provide space and place for preaching of the Good News of Jesus Christ. What an impact you can make!
CEF is currently offering: Savings: 2.0%, 1 year term: 2.25%, 2 year term: 2.50%, 3 year term: 2.75%, 4 year term: 3.00%. 5 year term: 3.25%. (Bonus ¼% for 3, 4 & 5 year term investments over $25,000). RRSP/ RRIF annualized projected interest rate for 2009 is 5.0%.
Indebtedness has become a huge issue with our young generation. If we don’t teach kids the ABC’s of personal finance, they may be left with debt & entitlement later on. The K.I.D.S. (Kids Into Discipleship and Stewardship) stamp program’s primary goal is to improve a good stewardship lifestyle early on.
Please contact your K.I.D.S Coordinator or the Church Extension Fund to find out how you can help make your children good stewards and at the same time help build churches and schools. “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”. Proverbs 22:6.
